You scour out and research all the local photographers in your area. You correspond with them to make sure they answer all your questions. Don’t forget to ask them if they are insured, well versed in safety protocols and anything else you are concerned about. This is your brand new baby! You want the best of the best for your sweet new bundle of newborn joy.

What should you look for in a newborn photographer?

Aside from loving their portfolio of images, you should love a lot about your newborn photographer. Think about the things that are important to you when you are researching your car seats, sheets, laundry detergent and pacifiers for your baby. You only want the best things out there. The things that meet with your family values and belief systems. Don’t be afraid to call your photographer and have a phone conversation to ask all your questions. All photographers are willing to help you out and the best photographers will love to get on the phone and speak with you one on one.

Should my photographer be insured?

Absolutely. I cannot stress this enough. All photographers should have insurance. We are handling precious little newborns and accidents happen. Every single photographer should have proof of insurance in their home studio or offsite studio. Do not be afraid to ask them for it.

How far should I travel for a newborn session?

This depends on each family. Some families want to stay relatively close to home with a small car drive. Some families are willing to drive over an hour to their newborn photographer. I think this will also depend on your relationship with your photographer. If you get along really well and you are willing to take the drive go for it! Just because the baby sleeps in the car does not mean they will not sleep during their session. Besides, some of the best images I have personally captured are of awake babies.

Where in Budding Roses Photography Studio?

My studio is located in Lebanon, NJ on route 22 East. I am fortunate enough to have a studio space that is perfect for all of my families in the Lebanon Plaza. We are right between Lamington NJ and Clinton NJ. We are conveniently located between route 31 and I-78, not too far from 287. Being centrally located really helps my clients. My studio is very easy to get to and we are located in a business district and not at my personal residency. This is important to me as I do have a very large family and a big dog. I want my clients to feel at home at my studio.
