Newborn Baby Hospital Pictures

Newborn baby hospital pictures are the greatest way to start my day!  I love capturing all of Hunterdon Medical Centers newborn babies in Flemington, NJ.  I am always left so excited when I get the heads up that a baby is about to be born.  Living in Frenchtown, NJ the hospital is a quick trip through part of Hunterdon County to Flemington.  I am at the hospital so frequently for Fresh 48 sessions that the staff is always welcoming and very inviting when I walk into the doors.

I had the opportunity to photograph this family’s maternity pictures as well.  We had a super hot day for those images but we were able to capture some amazing images.

Baby Owen was born just a few days prior to his due date surprising his momma and daddy.  He weighed 8lbs and 15 oz and measured 22 1/4″ long.  Needless to say when I met him, he was so adorable!  For a newborn baby he was so alert and had lots to take in while I was there.  I love when babies are little chunkikins, they are so super squishy.  I also love when I first meet these newborn babies because so much is happening and there is always a rawness to all this newborn newness.

Being behind the camera for me is an amazing experience.  I get to hone in all all these special moments that seem pretty normal in our lives on a day to day experience.  I capture and freeze these fleeting moments for families all throughout New Jersey.  These are the moments that my families from the fresh 48 sessions will cherish for years to come.

I love capturing all their wrinkly skin those first few days before they start to fill out.  Their tiny toes, wrinkly foreheads and the constant search for food like a baby bird.  Everything is such a blur when a baby is born.  This new relationship is coming to fruition and mom and baby are trying to get the nursing down along with all the other new  baby cues.  My heart just melts when I see these images of Owen grabbing his daddy’s finger and holding it tight.  Do you remember when your baby was born and how strong their grasp around your finger was? It is so amazing the strength these newborn babies have in their hands!

I had baby Owen’s daddy swaddle him while I was there.  I swear the nurses in the maternity ward at HMC must take an extensive course on swaddling because they are always baby burrito-ing those newborns up.  I am not the best at swaddling but I would say Owen’s daddy is definitely tackling that task!

So many sweet moments at this Fresh 48 Hospital session in Flemington, NJ.  Sweet baby smells taken in by mom and dad, newborn baby kisses, nursing baby multiple times trying to get it just right and sweet looks of pure love.
