Hello World! Let me introduce myself.

Hello world!

Welcome to my ‘world’.  🙂

This website has been a long time in the making.  Sometimes we can’t always plan on things to be the way we want them to be…and we have to be patient.  Unfortunately patience is not one of my strong points.  I am totally working on it though, I promise.    For those who don’t know me, I’m Ashley, owner of Budding Roses.  If you read my intro page, then you know why I named my business Budding Roses.

I have been working on my business for quite some time.  I have done many workshops both online and in person to have a better understanding and knowledge to give my clients the best experience yet.  Honestly, I consider myself really lucky as I have studied with some of the best photographers in the world.  Amy McDaniels from Dewdrops Photography  taught me all about Newborns and Newborn Safety.  Ana Brandt from Ana Brandt Photography  has taught me so much over the last year about the business side of a Photography Business.  And, Jackie Baughman from Cream n’ Cocoa Photography  has also taught me a huge amount about business and the art of photography this year.  Meg Bitton has also been a huge inpiration to me and has taught me to dig deeper and really photograph what I love and share my vision with the world. It is amazing to me to be surrounded by so many talented and amazing women within this realm.  I feel extremely blessed.

So I’m sure you are wondering “who” I am…?  Well, I’m a mom of 3 littles.  I’m also married to quite an amazing guy, Hugo.  Flat white coffees from Starbucks  are a necessity (they are seriously my fave next to their pumpkin spice lattes).  I wear birkenstocks a lot because they make me feel like I’m barefoot..I think I honestly own about 4 pairs of their sandals.  I’m a big Lularoe Addict and one of my favorite vendors is from my state, NJ.  Tara Katzman has the best, THE BEST, customer service ever.  She’s a mom like me, she homeschools and I personally just find her to be amazing, much like a magical unicorn.  Oh, I am also an artist.  Actually, I attended a local college in PA (Cedar Crest College)  and majored in both Fine Art, with a concentration in painting and Spanish.

A lot of people think of me as a “crunchy mom”, I like to think of myself more like boho chic with a splash of cool in there.  I had two out of my three kids at home…yes, on purpose.  My eldest, Amelia, was born in hospital and my 2 boys were planned home births.  Luckily for me, I spit my babies out and unfortunately for my midwife, she didn’t quite make either of my births BUT, my mom got to catch Oliver, and my husband got to catch Owen.  I love all natural stuff and really enjoy making things from scratch.

We have a pug named Lola and she was our first fur ‘baby’.  She enjoys the kids, most days, and really loves all the hugs she gets from them…..most of the time. 😉
